As a Doula, I Do Not:

Complimentary Consultation
This would be our first step. We would discuss your plan and vision for your birth, and get to know each other. I do strongly recommend your partner attend this meeting as well. The consult is free of charge with no obligation.
2 Prenatal Visits
During these visits we will discuss and create a birth plan, go over comfort measures and other basic childbirth education, and just generally get to know each other better. I enjoy spending time with and learning all I can about my clients.
Phone & Email Support
This is unlimited. You can always contact me with questions, concerns, or updates at any time.
During Labor
As your doula, I will be on call from two weeks prior to your estimated due date until you go into labor. On that day, I will join you as soon as you feel you need me, and provide continuous support until delivery.
Baby’s First Feeding Support
If you wish, I would be so happy to assist with baby's first feeding. Also, I am a huge fan of lactation consultants and do not expect to replace them during this important time.
Perform any clinical tasks
As a doula, I do not perform medical tasks such as checking blood pressure, fetal heart tone checks, taking temperatures, vaginal exams, etc.
Make decisions for you or speak to the staff on your behalf
I am simply an advocate for you. I provide informational support, allowing you and your partner the opportunity to make informed decisions.
Project any of my own beliefs onto your experience
Very simply, this is your birth! My goal as a doula is to help you to experience the birth that you wish to experience, with the end result being a happy and healthy mommy and baby. Your birth, your way.
Postpartum Follow-up Visit
This visit will usually take place within a week to two weeks after the birth. I can either come to the hospital or to your home. We will discuss you and your partner's feelings about your birth and check on how you're doing physically and emotionally. Also, I would be happy to help answer any breastfeeding or newborn care questions.
Price For Services
My fee is $750 for all that is mentioned above. Half of the fee will be due at the time we sign our contract, and the second half two weeks prior to your estimated due date.
With that being said, I don't believe financial limitations should ever hinder a mother from having a doula. Please contact me for additional information or to discuss a payment arrangement that works for both of us.
